Esri UC 2018 Recap

This summer, Argis Solutions had the pleasure of speaking the Esri User Conference in San Diego! We were thrilled to make a lot of acquaintances and present a little of what we do and who who are.

The highlights included:

1. An explanation of how the Argis Lens lets you view your GIS data in the field. We talked about our work with Thornton, Colorado. Their problem: Not all of their manholes were marked with GIS information. They are using our technology to map more of their assets in order to improve their GIS record and keep track of their maintenance schedules more efficiently.

2. A real-life example of how several field workers were waiting around for confirmation regarding whether or not a power line was underneath an area where excavation work was needed. A man on a bike rode up to greet them and inquired about their business. They explained they didn't want to hit a high voltage line or anything else that might be dangerous. The friendly biker responded that he thought he remembered a wall that used to be where they were standing with a concrete foundation. After a few minutes of discussion, he went on his way. Sure enough, that's what was under the ground. Had these field workers had their GIS data available at their worksite, it would have saved a lot of time and worry for them. That's why we exist: to improve geospatial communication for those working in the field.

3. Our relentless commitment to improving the quality of the Argis Lens. We look forward to the feedback we receive from our customers. Along with constantly improving our product, we are rolling out the Android version of the Lens this quarter, and we are structuring educational pricing for classrooms.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this conference. We hope you enjoyed learning about our company. We look forward to the next one, and if you want to contact us to discuss how we can help you with your GIS and AR needs, please don't hesitate to reach out!
